 A mid-face or cheek lift is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the nasolabial folds and cheeks. As we age, the fat overlying the cheek called the malar fat pad descends and results in a flattened appearance to the cheek, more prominent nasolabial fold, and drooping of the corners of the mouth. A mid-face lift will re-elevate the malar fat pad and improve the appearance of your cheeks, decrease the nasolabial fold, and remove the frowning appearance of your mouth.

Minimally Invasive Mid-Face Suspension (MIMS Procedure)
Through a small incision (2-3 cm) behind the hairline, Dr. Desai and his Jacksonville cosmetic surgery team will elevate the malar fat pad and restore the natural, fuller appearance of your cheeks WITHOUT any scars on the face.
The procedure takes about an hour and the recovery is much shorter (i.e. 7-10 days) than more invasive mid-face lift procedures. The MIMS procedure is performed under local anesthesia and patients can home the same day. Some tape is applied to help support the tissues as they heal and is removed 5-7 days after surgery. Recovering after your Mid-Face Lift
The mild pain associated with a mid-face lift is generally well-controlled with oral pain medications and usually improves in the first few days. Patients may have bruising around their cheeks, but this resolves within 1-2 weeks. In addition, they may feel some tightness around their cheeks and mouth, but this improves as the tissues settle and heal.
